Eddie Jerome Vedder born Edward Louis Severson III on December 23, 1964, is a singer, musician, and songwriter best known as the main vocalist and one of Pearl Jam’s four guitarists. He also sang as a guest vocalist in Temple of the Dog, a one-time tribute band to the late singer Andrew Wood.
Vedder married Hovercraft bassist Beth Liebling 1994, whom he had been dating since he was a teenager, around 1984. In 1995, Vedder was the drummer for Hovercraft, who opened for Mike Watt’s US tour.
The couple divorced in September 2000. Vedder revealed in an interview published in the June 29, 2006 issue of Rolling Stone magazine that his divorce from Liebling had crushed him.
The divorce occurred at the same time as Pearl Jam’s biggest tragedy, the killing of nine fans during the band’s show at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark on June 30, 2000.
In an interview with Chris Cornell’s daughter Lily in 2020, Vedder revealed that their show began on a high because they had just learned of her birth, until around 40 minutes into their performance when tragedy struck. Pete Townshend, according to Vedder, assisted him in the early phases of dealing with the catastrophe.
Where did Eddie Vedder go to college
Eddie received his GED while working as a waiter in the early 1980s and briefly attended a small college outside Chicago.
Vedder returned to San Diego in 1984, accompanied by his fiancée Beth Liebling and his friend Frank.
He kept himself busy by recording demo tapes at home and worked several jobs, including a contract security guard position at the La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla.
Where did Eddie Vedder go to high school
Vedder went to San Dieguito High School, which is now known as San Dieguito Academy.
The earnings from a Pearl Jam concert in San Diego in 2006 were donated to the school in memory of his former acting instructor, Clayton E. Liggett. Vedder’s high school mentor was Liggett.
