Duron Harmon (born January 24, 1991) is an American football free safety for the National Football League’s Las Vegas Raiders (NFL). Fans and the media dubbed Harmon “The Closer” for his ability to come up with game-winning interceptions late in the game.
After playing college football at Rutgers, he was drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Harmon has also spent time with the Detroit Lions and the Atlanta Falcons.

Harmon was not one of the 60 defensive backs invited to the NFL Scouting Combine after graduating from Rutgers. He was one of 17 prospects to attend Rutgers’ Pro Day on March 13, 2013. Harmon completed all of the required combine and positional drills for all 32 NFL teams’ scouts and team representatives.
Harmon was projected by NFL draft experts and scouts to be a seventh-round pick or an undrafted free agent at the end of the pre-draft process. DraftScout.com ranked him as the 16th-best strong safety prospect in the draft.
