Dennis Duane “D. J.” Reed Jr. was born on November 11, 1996, and plays cornerback for the National Football League’s New York Jets (NFL).

He went to college at Kansas State and played football there. In the 2018 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers picked him in the fifth round.

Reed decided to switch from Fresno State to Cerritos College in Norwalk, California. Cerritos College is a community college. As a redshirt freshman at Cerritos, he played in 11 games and made 42 tackles, broke up three passes, and picked off two passes.

Reed changed schools again after a year at Cerritos. This time, he went to Kansas State University. Reed was a redshirt sophomore for Kansas State in 2016.

He played in all 13 games as a cornerback and a return specialist. Reed made a total of 75 tackles, 16 pass breakups, and two forced fumbles on defense.

On offense, he took back nine kickoffs for a total of 255 yards. He was named to the 2016 All-Big 12 Conference football team after the season.

Reed went to high school in Bakersfield, California, at Independence High School. In high school football, he had 13 touchdowns and a total of 1,150 yards of offense. He also had six interceptions and five forced fumbles.

He played both football and basketball, and he was the first person in the history of his school to be named MVP in both. Reed decided to join the Fresno State Bulldogs, football team.
