The six foot-three-inch Alabama Crimson linebacker is an alumnus of Theodore High School. He lived in the same community as his family and was the number one rated high school football out of the city for his graduating class.
He ended his senior year with 69 tackles, two pass breakups, and a pick-six. He also recorded three touchdown runs and added a blocked extra point.
He was chosen to play in the All-American Bowl in Orlando, Florida. His outstanding performances also earned him a spot in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game after his senior year.
He was also invited to play in the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. With many college offers during his senior year including the likes of Auburn, Georgia, and LSU among other options, Kennedy was advised to select the Alabama Crimson.
