Waller spent a lot of his early years moving around. He grew up in Acworth, Georgia, Marietta, Colorado, and Colorado Springs, Georgia. After that, he attended Kennesaw, Georgia’s North Cobb High School.
He made a commitment to play collegiate football with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
He redshirted his first season there in 2011 there. He decided to forgo his last year of eligibility in order to participate in the 2015 NFL Draft.
