Daniel Sorensen born March 5, 1990, in Riverside, California, plays professional American football as a safety for the National Football League’s New Orleans Saints.
He attended Brigham Young University and was an All-American and All-Sunshine State selection in his class.

He played high school football at Colton High School based in Colton, California. After going undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs signed Sorensen to a two-year, $930,000 contract.
After being drafted in the third round by the Denver Broncos, he chose to sign with the Chiefs because they demonstrated their interest in him by having head coach Andy Reid call him personally.
Sorensen appeared in all four preseason games, recording nine total tackles and a pass deflection. To begin the regular season, he was named the backup strong safety to Eric Berry.
He had five combined tackles in a 34-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers on August 28, 2014. Sorensen was waived by the Kansas City Chiefs and signed to their practice squad on September 9, 2014.
His demotion to the practice squad was reportedly due to two special teams blunders that resulted in a failed fake punt and an offsides penalty during their 24-10 victory over the New York Jets.
