Where did Danai Gurira go to high school?

Danai  Gurira is a writer and actor who was born in the United States of America on February 14, 1978. Her parents are American and Zimbabwean.

In 2009, Gurira made her debut on Broadway as the character of Martha Pentecost in August Wilson’s play Joe Turner’s Come and Gone. The production was directed by August Wilson.

The drama “The Convert,” which Gurira wrote in 2012, had its world debut in a performance that was a collaboration between the Goodman Theatre in Chicago and the McCarter Theatre in New Jersey. In the latter part of that year, Gurira was honored with the Whiting Award, which is presented annually to a young writer.

Gurira is also a playwright, and her work on the Broadway play Eclipsed, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Play, garnered her a nomination in that category.

Gurira recieved her high school education at Dominican Convent High School. After that, she went back to the United States to complete her education at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the school.
