Corey Reynolds is an American actor best known for originating the role of Seaweed in the Broadway adaptation of Hairspray. He is also known for his role in the TNT crime show The Closer.

Corey Reynolds was born on July 3, 1974, in Richmond, Virginia. There he attended Monacan High School before later moving to California in order to pursue his acting career.

He began his career in acting at Paramount Kings Dominion performing in various shows. During his time in California, he was cast in a touring production of the revue Smokey Joe’s Cafe. He was cast in the tour of Saturday Night Fever.

After this, he moved to New York City to audition for various shows. He was originally cast as part of Hairspray’s ensemble. After three readings, he was later offered the role of Seaweed.
