Conan Christopher O’Brien (born April 18, 1963) is a television personality, comedian, writer, and producer from the United States. He is most known for hosting late-night talk shows for nearly 28 years, beginning with Late Night with Conan O’Brien (1993-2009), The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien (2009-2010), and Conan (2010-2021) on the cable channel TBS. Prior to becoming a presenter, he worked as a writer for Saturday Night Live (1988-1991) and The Simpsons (1991–1993).

O’Brien was raised in an Irish Catholic home in Brookline, Massachusetts. While at Harvard, he was president of The Harvard Lampoon and a writer for the sketch comedy series Not Necessarily the News. He joined the writing crew of Saturday Night Live after writing for many comedy shows in Los Angeles. O’Brien worked as a writer and producer for The Simpsons for two seasons before being chosen by Lorne Michaels and NBC to replace David Letterman as host of Late Night in 1993.
