CJ Jones, an American actor, was raised in Los Angeles and was deaf from birth. On September 29, 1950, he was born. The documentary See What I’m Saying: The Deaf Entertainers includes him as one of its subjects.

In Edgar Wright’s 2017 film Baby Driver, in which he plays Joseph, the foster parent who is deaf to the central character played by Ansel Elgort, Jones made his feature film debut.

Three of his one-man productions have been staged; they have toured places including Canada, the US, Sweden, Australia, and Ecuador. He co-wrote and directed six classic fairy tales for the kids’ television show Once Upon a Sign.

CJ Jones is a deaf man whose parents communicated through American Sign Language. He was one of the couple’s seven hearing children, but at the age of 7, spinal meningitis caused him to lose his hearing.

He attended the Missouri School for the Deaf as a student. He was the class valedictorian and a sports aficionado. He keeps taking part in deaf awareness campaigns and charitable organizations.
