The National Football League’s (NFL) Tampa Bay Buccaneers outside linebacker Carl Paul Nassib was born on April 12, 1993. He received a unanimous All-American selection in 2015 as a senior playing college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Before being chosen by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Nassib played for the Las Vegas Raiders. In 2021, Nassib publicly came out as gay and took part in an NFL game for the first time.

Nassib enrolled at Pennsylvania State University and was accepted as a walk-on to the Penn State football team in 2011. After sitting out the team’s first two seasons, he participated in 10 games as a sophomore in 2013, the team’s second and last campaign under coach Bill O’Brien.

12 tackles and one sack were made by Nassib. He participated in all 13 games as a junior and recorded seven tackles and one sack. His senior year in 2015 marked the first time he started. In just six games to start the year, Nassib has accumulated 10 sacks.

2015’s Nagurski-Woodson Defensive Player of the Year for the Big Ten went to Nassib, who was also selected as an undisputed All-American. He was given the Hendricks Award as the best defensive end in the country.
