Moore attended Bassfield High School in the state of Mississippi. He was deployed as a quarterback and linebacker for the Yellowjackets. During his senior year, Moore put in a stellar performance to help his team claim victory in the Class 2A state final.
He received a number of offers from various colleges but decided to stay in his home state and play college football for Ole Miss. Calvin played for the Ole Miss Rebels for five seasons.
