The Irish actor Barry McGovern, who is most commonly identified with interpreting the writings of Samuel Beckett, is now participating in rehearsals for a new Arthur Miller play at the Gate Theatre called “The Price.”
McGovern has worked in theater, cinema, radio, and television, as well as composing music for numerous shows, co-authoring two musicals, and directing plays and operas. In addition, McGovern has worked as a composer for many productions. Even though he is 65 years old, McGovern still has the presence of a much younger man, with a youthful look that is at odds with his deep, gravelly voice. This is the voice that he employs to such great effect in Waiting for Godot.
