He was a Democrat who consistently won the district with at least 60% of the vote. Weiner resigned from Congress in June 2011 after it was discovered that he had emailed sexually provocative images of himself to various women.

Where did Anthony Weiner go to high school and college?
Weiner passed the Specialised High Schools Admissions Test, which determined admittance to all but one of New York City’s specialized high schools and was accepted to Brooklyn Technical High School, where he graduated in 1981.
He went to the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and spent his junior year as an exchange student at the College of William and Mary, where he met future comedian and political commentator Jon Stewart.
Stewart acknowledged their friendship when he made fun of him during the 2011 sexting affair. Weiner’s interests shifted to politics, and he became involved in student government, where he was named the most effective student senator.
Weiner joined the staff of then-United States Representative and current Senator Charles Schumer after receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1985. He worked for three years in Schumer’s Washington, D.C. office before being transferred to the Brooklyn district office in 1988, when Schumer encouraged him to get active in local politics.
