On September 22, 1994, Alex Anzalone, a middle linebacker with the Detroit Lions of the National Football League, was born. At Florida University, he played football in college. The New Orleans Saints selected him in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

The New Orleans Saints selected Anzalone in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft (76th overall). In 2017, he was chosen as the ninth linebacker.

The New Orleans Saints signed Anzalone to a four-year, $3.46 million contract on June 2, 2017, which also included an $864,592 signing bonus.

As a rookie outside linebacker for the Saints, Anzalone started each of the four games in which he took part. He was placed on injured reserve on October 4, 2017, following a shoulder injury he suffered in Week 4 against the Dolphins.

Anzalone participated in each of the team’s 16 games throughout the 2018 season until being placed on injured reserve on September 16, 2019.

Anzalone and the Detroit Lions agreed to the terms of a contract on March 24, 2021. As a linebacker for the 2021 season, he made his debut. He made his first 14 starts before suffering a shoulder injury in Week 15. He was put on injured reserve on December 20.
