Algiers Jameal William Dillon Jr., a running back for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League, was born on May 2, 1998.

Dillon is of Jewish and African-American ancestry. Tom Gatewood, his grandfather, was a 1972 team captain at the University of Notre Dame, an All-American college football player, and a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

In Connecticut, Dillon was raised. Dillon played sparingly as a freshman on the high school football team at New London High School. At that time, he was sought out by the exclusive boarding school Lawrence Academy in Groton, Massachusetts.

Dillon played four years at Lawrence, and by his second season, when he rushed for 1321 yards and 21 touchdowns while also excelling at linebacker, he had established himself as the team’s offensive focal point.

Dillon is an avid promoter of Door County, Wisconsin, having first visited there after he started playing in Green Bay.
