The American rhythm and blues group The Soul Brothers Six was founded in Rochester, New York, in the middle of the 1960s.

The songs “Some Kind of Wonderful,” which subsequently became a success for Grand Funk Railroad, and “I’ll Be Loving You,” which became popular in the UK’s Northern soul genre in the 1970s, are the ones that will stick in people’s minds the most.

Where are the soul brothers from?

The soul brothers are from south Africa.

The brothers Sam, Charles, Moses, Harry, and Gene Armstrong made up the band, which was formerly known as the Soul Brothers Five.

A name change resulted from the addition of vocalist John Ellison soon after the band’s founding. Before Harry Armstrong and Gene Armstrong departed the group and were replaced by Vonn Elle Benjamin and Lester Peleman, this line-up issued two unsuccessful singles in 1965, “Stop Hurting Me” and “I Don’t Want to Cry.”

Before Sam Armstrong departed the band and was replaced by Joe Johnson, this lineup put out the song “Don’t Neglect Your Baby.” Following a Philadelphia DJ’s introduction to Jerry Wexler, they eventually agreed to a deal with Atlantic Records and produced “Some Kind of Wonderful,” which peaked at No. 91 on the Billboard Hot 100. Before Atlantic dropped them, they released a number of further failed singles.
