On Friday, February 10, award-winning South African rapper AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes, was shot dead in Durban, South Africa.
The rapper, who is based in Johannesburg, flew into Durban earlier today, February 10th, for his birthday party at Yugo Nightclub, which he advertised on his social media pages and invited fans to attend.
AKA had gone to Fish Restaurant on Florida Road with some friends and his bodyguard two hours before he was killed and had posted his location on his Instagram page. He stepped outside the restaurant after the meal and was killed shortly after 10 p.m.
According to witnesses, someone approached him and shot him six times, while other reports claim it was a drive-by shooting. AKA was standing outside with friends when two cars drove by and shot him. A friend who was standing nearby was also killed, and his bodyguard was injured in the shooting.

Where are AKA parents from?
His mother’s name is Lynn Forbes, and his father’s name is Mr. Forbes. Lynn was born in the Free State town of Koffiefontein. AKA’s mother earned her education degree at the University of the Western Cape. Apart from that, not much is known about them.
