Javorius Tykies Scott, better known as JayDaYoungan, was a rapper and singer from the United States who died on July 27, 2022.
He was best known for his singles 23 Island,” “Elimination,” and “Opps,” which had 49, 27, and 26 million SoundCloud streams, respectively, as of November 2020.
According to a Facebook post by the Bogalusa Police Department, JayDaYoungan died from gunshot wounds in Louisiana.
Kenyatta Scott Sr., another person described by police as a “close family member,” was also injured in the shooting and is currently in stable condition.
“Detectives are currently conducting interviews and working leads,” the post continued. More information will be provided as it becomes available.”
Police, who said they received a call about the first shooting at 5:50 p.m., believe a second shooting that occurred shortly after may be related to the one that killed JayDaYoungan. The second shooting did not injure anyone.
He was 24.
