Dirk Nowitzk is a retired German-born basketball player in the National Basketball Association.

He only played for the Dallas Mavericks since being picked by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1998 NBA Draft before being moved.

The 7-foot-tall baller went on to shatter and hold multiple all-time Mavericks franchise and association milestones, including being the highest-scoring foreign-born player in NBA history and one of just seven persons in the world to have appeared in at least 20 NBA seasons.

Nowitzki retired as the Mavericks’ all-time leader in games, seasons, points, rebounds, blocks, field goal shooting, three-point shooting, and free throws in the 2018-2019 season.

How long did Dirk Nowitzki play?

Nowitzki, 43, broke Kobe Bryant’s previous record of 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers by playing a record 21 seasons with the same team.

Nowitzki’s jersey banner has been displayed and is being hoisted in the rafters.
