What was Wilson Pickett worth when he died?

Pickett was worth approximately $500,000 before he passed on. The late 64-year-old who died from a heart attack made most of his money from his music.

He had other sources of income such as endorsements from corporate firms but that pales when compared to what his music was raking in every year.

Pickett’s debut solo single, I’m Gonna Cry, was produced with producer Bert Berns and songwriters Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.

He was subsequently recruited to Stax Records in 1965 and had his first major hit with In the Midnight Hour.

The song peaked on all the major charts around the world. It sold over a million copies and received a gold disc.

At the 8th Annual Grammy Awards, Pickett won his first Grammy nomination for Best Rhythm & Blues Recording.
