Jon Wysocki, the talented drummer known for his work with American rock bands Staind and SOiL, has passed away at the age of 53.

Born in Northampton, Massachusetts in 1971, Wysocki was an original member of Staind, which was formed in 1995 when he met singer Aaron Lewis through guitarist Mike Mushock and bassist Johnny April. The band gained attention after performing with Limp Bizkit in 1997 and was signed to Flip Records by frontman Fred Durst in 1998.

After releasing several successful albums with Staind, Wysocki left the band in 2011 due to frustrations with the album production process. He then joined SOiL before forming Save The World with Dan Tracey and Robert Wright. In 2020, Wysocki joined Lydia’s Castle as their drummer.

Wysocki’s passing was announced by Lydia’s Castle on Instagram on May 18, 2024, with the band stating that he was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his death. SOiL also paid tribute to Wysocki on social media, remembering him as a great friend, drummer, and human being.

While the cause of Wysocki’s death has not been confirmed, reports suggest he had been battling liver problems. Tributes have poured in from fans and fellow musicians, including former bandmate and Staind singer Aaron Lewis, who expressed his deep sadness at the loss of his friend and brother in arms.

Wysocki’s impact on the rock music industry is undeniable, with Staind’s hits like “It’s Been Awhile” and “So Far Away” dominating the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. His legacy will live on through his music and the memories he shared with fans and friends throughout his career. Rest in peace, Jon Wysocki.
