Jerry Blavat was an American disc jockey and performer who had a significant influence on radio promotion of oldies music. Blavat was born to a Jewish father and an Italian mother in South Philadelphia.

Blavat appeared on shows such as The Mod Squad, The Monkees, The Tonight Show, and The Joey Bishop Show. Blavat starred in Desperately Seeking Susan, Baby It’s You, and Cookie. Blavat bought “Memories,” a nightclub in Margate, New Jersey, in 1972.
