Cilla Black (born Priscilla Maria Veronica White OBE on May 27, 1943, died August 1, 2015) was an English singer, television presenter, actress, and novelist.
Black began her career as a singer in 1963, aided by her Beatles pals. In 1964, her singles “Anyone Who Had a Heart” and “You’re My World” both went to No. 1 in the United Kingdom.
Between then and 1971, she had 11 top ten successes on the UK Singles Chart, with an extra eight top 40 songs.
In May 2010, BBC Radio 2 reported that her version of “Anyone Who Had a Heart” was the best-selling song by a female artist in the UK during the 1960s. [1] “You’re My World” was a little hit as well.
