Kelis announced on Monday that her photographer husband, Mike Mora, died at the age of 37 following a six-month fight with stage four stomach cancer.
Mike, a photographer, discovered he had cancer in September 2021, after being diagnosed a year before and given only 18 months to live by physicians.
On her social media sites, the singer has yet to officially remark on her husband’s death.
Kelis and Mora married in 2014 and had a son, Shepherd, in 2015, as well as a daughter, whose name has yet to be disclosed, in September 2020.
Her ex-husband Nas, with whom she was married from 2005 to 2010, has a 12-year-old kid named Knight.
Since January 2020, Kelis and Mora have been living on a distant farm in Temecula, California, just outside of Los Angeles, where they have managed and reared their children.
