What type of cancer did A.A. Gill have?

Gill, a former smoker, was diagnosed with lung cancer in the autumn that had progressed to his neck and pancreas, and the tumors were incurable and unsuitable for radiation. Gill began his restaurant column three weeks ago by admitting to having “an embarrassment of cancer.”

Gill began writing for Tatler in 1991 after failing to establish himself as an artist, and he joined The Sunday Times in 1993.

Gill was extensively read and received multiple honors for his work. He was known for his biting humor and frequently contentious approach. One editor characterized him as a “giant among journalists” after his death. Numerous complaints were lodged against his writings with the Press Complaints Commission.
