What religion is Hamza Yassin?

Hamza Ahmed Yassin is a Sudanese-born Scottish wildlife cameraman best known for his work on shows including Countryfile and Animal Park, as well as presenting wildlife documentaries.

Yassin was born in Sudan on 22 February 1990 and relocated to Scotland when he was young. He graduated from Bangor University with a degree in Zoology with Conservation and a Masters in Biological Photography and Imaging from the University of Nottingham.

Yassin is a Muslim.

He had his first television appearance as Ranger Hamza on the CBeebies show Let’s Go on a Walk, and he published a book based on the series. In late 2020, he hosted Scotland: My Life in the Wild, a one-off episode in which he filmed Scottish wildlife.

Yassin joined the long-running BBC program Animal Park in 2021.

The following year, he hosted Scotland: Escape to the Wilderness. He took four celebrities (Martin Clunes, Baroness Warsi, and Ben Miller) for the four-part series.

He will compete in the twentieth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2022.
