On November 16, 1985, Sanna Mirella Marin was born in Helsinki. She had also lived in Espoo and Pirkkala before moving to Tampere. Her parents separated when Marin was a young child.

The family struggled with money, and Lauri Marin, Marin’s father, battled alcoholism. After her real parents separated, Marin was raised by her mother and her mother’s female lover.

Finland’s prime minister since 2019 is Sanna Mirella Marin, a politician who was born there on November 16, 1985. She joined the Social Democratic Party of Finland in 2015 and has been a member of parliament since then (SDP).

Antti Rinne resigned on December 8, 2019, during the postal strike controversy, and Marin was appointed prime minister in his place.

As the youngest president in Finland’s history and the fourth-youngest head of state in the world (after Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso, Gabriel Boric of Chile, and Dritan Abazovi of Montenegro), she took office at the age of 34.
