
British politician Kwasi Kwarteng, born Akwasi Addo Alfred Kwarteng on May 26, 1975, has been the Chancellor of the Exchequer since 2022.

Kwarteng was born in the London Borough of Waltham Forest in 1975, the only child[4] of Alfred K. Kwarteng and Charlotte Boaitey-Kwarteng, who moved from Ghana in the 1960s as students.
His mother is a barrister, while his father is a Commonwealth Secretariat economist.
Kwarteng began his education at a public elementary school before attending Colet Court, an exclusive preparatory school in London, where he received the Harrow History Prize in 1988.
Kwarteng then attended Eton College, where he was a King’s Scholar and received the renowned Newcastle Scholarship.
