Randy Parton, a recording artist and the younger brother of classic rock superstar Dolly Parton, passed away last year after a long battle with cancer.
He was 67 years old at the time of his departure.
What kind of cancer did Randy Parton have?
Randy Parton was the eighth of 12 children born to Robert and Avie Lee and the second of the Hall of Famer’s siblings to pass away in recent years, following Floyd Parton, who died four years earlier at the age of 61.
Randy, who happened to be the guitarist and bass guitarist in Dolly’s band for many years and had his own show at Dollywood since 1986, was also an important part of Dolly Parton’s career.
He recorded duets with his sister, Dolly, including (Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You) and (You Are My Christmas), for Dolly’s 2020 Christmas album.
Dolly issued a formal statement via her website and social media. Randy, her brother, had succumbed to cancer. It is speculated that Randy was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer.
A condition that spreads from the colon to distant organs and tissues. The liver is the most common site of colon cancer spread, but it can also spread to the lungs, brain, peritoneum (the lining of the abdominal cavity), or distant lymph nodes.
Randy Parton left behind his wife Deb, daughter Heidi, son Sabyn, and grandchildren Huston and Trent.
