Thomas Jonathan Jackson Ravenel, an American politician, and reality television personality, was born on August 11, 1962. He is the son of former South Carolina representative Arthur Ravenel Jr.
He served as the lead character on the Bravo reality series Southern Charm for five seasons, served as the state treasurer for six months, ran as an independent in South Carolina’s 2014 Senate race, and ran as a Republican in the 2004 Senate primary. Additionally, he attends Charleston’s French Huguenot Church.
What is Thomas Ravenel doing now?
After purchasing the stunning home for $1,800,000 in May 2020, Thomas’ current whereabouts are unknown.
US Attorney Reginald Lloyd announced Ravenel’s federal drug distribution indictment in June 2007.
In the allegations, it is claimed that Ravenel bought less than 500 grams of cocaine through a middleman in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2005, before being chosen as treasurer but after his unsuccessful bid for the Senate in 2004.
As soon as he was made aware of the allegations, Governor Mark Sanford dismissed Ravenel from his position as state treasurer and named Columbia lawyer Ken Wingate to take over as Ravenel’s interim replacement.
Prosecutors claim that in the meanwhile, Ravenel made the decision to check into a recovery center.
