What is Guy Ritchie famous for?
After the success of his second picture, Snatch (2000), both critically and financially, he became well-known. Ritchie, who was married to Madonna from 2000 to 2008, followed up Snatch with the critically derided box office failure Swept Away (2002).
He then directed RocknRolla (2008) and Revolver(2005), less well-received films with mixed reviews. He was the director of two box office successes in 2009 and 2011, Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. The former received Academy Award nominations for Best Original Score and Best Art Direction.
