Celia Cruz, a Cuban-American singer, and dancer, had a fortune of $1 million. On October 21, 1925, Ursula Hilaria Celia de la Caridad Cruz Alfonso de la Santsima Trinidad, better known as Celia Cruz, was born in Havana, Cuba.

Together with her colleague Mercedita Valdes, a Cuban singer of Akpwon santera, Cruz researched the lyrics of Yoruba songs and produced a number of spiritual compositions.
