Aaron Joseph Neville, an American R&B and soul singer, was born on January 24, 1941. Now retired. He has four platinum albums, four Top 10 singles, and three that reached the top of the Adult Contemporary Billboard chart in the United States. Five weeks were spent at the top of the Soul chart by the 1966 song “Tell It Like It Is.”

Neville has a mixture of Choctaw Native American, Caucasian, and African American ancestry.

Orchid in the Storm, Neville’s first solo album since the late 1960s, was independently released in 1986. The 1989 album Cry Like a Rainstorm, Howl Like the Wind, which included four of their duets, was co-written by Neville and Linda Ronstadt.

They included the Grammy-winning No. 1 hits “Don’t Know Much” and “All My Life.” The single “Don’t Know Much” peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100 and was certified Gold for selling one million copies. The album was certified Triple Platinum for US sales of more than three million copies.
