Lester Piggott is a legendary British Jockey who won many titles during his years as an active rider. He is credited with some of the modern techniques of racing and caring for and maintaining horses.
What illness does Lester Piggott have?
Lester was said to have passed away in the early hours of Sunday, 29th May 2022. He died at the old age of 86 in a hospital in Switzerland.
Although the cause of his death has not yet been publicly disclosed the retired jockey is said to have visited a hospital in Switzerland and was subsequently admitted somewhere last week. The 86 year old Lester seemed have had a prolonged illness.
The famous horseracing trainer trainer William Haggas confirmed his death and suggested that a formal statement from his daughter Maureen would be issued in the coming hours. He added no further details.
Funeral arrangements are set to be discussed by the family in due course.
