Shane O’Connor, Sinead O’Connor’s 17-year-old son, died after going missing last week, O’Connor said on Twitter on Friday.
“My darling son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, the very light of my life, decided to terminate his earthly struggle tonight and is now with God,” the controversial Irish musician and songwriter O’Connor tweeted. “May he rest in peace and that no one follows in his footsteps. My child. I adore you to pieces. Please rest in peace.”
The death was confirmed by Connor’s management organization.
“We regret to inform you that Sinead’s son Shane has died. We respectfully request that the utmost respect and sympathy be shown to Sinead and her family during this difficult time “67 Management issued a statement on Saturday.
According to tweets posted on Sinead O’Connor’s personal Twitter account, Shane O’Connor was supposedly on suicide watch at a hospital in Dublin.
She blamed the hospital for allowing him “slip through their fingers.”
“This is a message for Shane, my son. Shane, all this going missing is no longer amusing. You scare the hell out of me. Could you kindly do the right thing and report to a Garda station? “She penned a letter. “If you’re with Shane, please contact the Gardai to ensure his safety.”
