Philip Green full name is Sir Philip Nigel Ross Green and he is best known as a British businessman who was the chairman of the retail company Arcadia Group. He owned the high-street clothing retailers Topshop, Topman, and Miss Selfridge from 2002 to 2020. In May 2023, his net worth was estimated by the Sunday Times Rich List to be £910 million.

What happened to Philip Green?

Philip Green went bankrupt which led him to sell his business.

In 2015, Philip Green sold his business for £1 to Dominic Chappell who is a former bankrupt racing driver.

Philip Green thought it was a wise decision he had made and he was glad at the sale, thinking it had lifted a huge weight from his shoulders. But it was not to prove so.

Unfortunately, Dominic Chappell turned out to be a spiv which means he was earlier this month jailed for six years for tax dodging.

Dominic Chappell was incapable of turning the business around and the company collapsed into bankruptcy with 11,000 job losses and a £571 million pension deficit.
