What happened to Petra Kvitová?

Tennis star Petra Kvitova was stabbed at her house in the Czech Republic, and the attacker was given an eight-year prison term.

In 2016, 33-year-old Radim Zondra arrived at her apartment and claimed he wanted to check the heater. He then seized Kvitova by the back and stabbed her in the throat.

Kvitová, a Czech woman, was robbed on December 20, 2016, at her flat in Prostjov. As she struggled to protect herself, she repeatedly cut the tendons and nerves in her left hand and fingers.

The assailant, who fled with a knife and $190 in cash, is thought to be a man in his mid-thirties. She had surgery to fix the injury to her hand, and it was anticipated that she would need to take the next six months off to heal completely. Kvitová reported that she had regained movement in her left hand three days later, at her first news conference following surgery.
