Eugene Lee Yang, an American filmmaker, actor, producer, author, director, activist, and online personality, was born on January 18, 1986.
He is perhaps best known for his work with BuzzFeed and for being a member of the YouTube group The Try Guys (2014–present) (2013–2018). The Trevor Project is only one of the LGBTQ+ and human rights organizations for which Yang is well recognized.

Yang came out as homosexual on June 15, 2019, in a YouTube video that raised more than $150,000 for The Trevor Project. He has been dating Matthew McLean ever since 2012. Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke and Yang co-hosted a fundraiser in July 2022.
The Try Guys, which also created LGBTQ-themed films like season 1 episode 3 The Try Guys Try Drag for the First Time, has only one homosexual cast member, Yang.
In the film My Dad’s First Drag Show (Featuring Kim Chi), which he released on October 31, 2018, he used a similar strategy to learn about drag culture by bringing his father and stepmother to a drag show. Yang has taken on the drag queen identity of Cheyenne Pepper, and the drag mother of Pepper is Mayhem Miller from season 10 of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
