Cori Anika Bush is an American politician, registered nurse, pastor, and ‘Black Lives Matter’ activist. Cori, born on July 21, 1976, is serving as the U.S. representative for Missouri’s 1st congressional district. She is a member of the Democratic Party, and she defeated Lacy Clay in the 2020 U.S.A election.

What happened to Cori Bush?
Cori Bush was sexually assaulted when she was a teenager. She shared her personal experience of how she was raped as a teenager, became pregnant, and chose to get an abortion. Bush recounted how shortly after graduating high school, she attended a church trip to Jackson, Mississippi, in the summer of 1994, when she was on 17 years of age.
When Cori was on the church trip, she met a young man who was 20 years old then. They became friends and flirted with each other. Later the man asked to visit Cori’s room. Cori, thinking that they would talk and laugh, invited him in. “But the next thing I knew, he was on top of me, messing with my clothes, and not saying anything at all. ‘What is happening?’ I thought. I didn’t know what to do. I was frozen in shock, just lying there as his weight pressed down upon me. When he was done, he got up, pulled up his pants, and without a word, he left,” Cori recalled. Cori Bush added that she was confused, embarrassed, and ashamed.
