Multiple award-winning American actress Betty White, whose real name is Betty Marion White Ludden, is admired by many film lovers around the globe.

As a pioneer of early television, Betty holds Guinness World Record for the longest run in television than anyone else in that medium. She has worked for more than eight decades in the movie industry.

Betty was among the first women to exert control in front of and behind the camera and the first woman to produce a sitcom (Life with Elizabeth), which contributed to her being named honorary Mayor of Hollywood in 1955.

The Golden Girl star is often referred to as “the First Lady of Television,” a title used for a 2018 documentary detailing her life and career.

What happened to Betty White?

Betty White has died. She died on December 31, 2021, at the age of 99. She was just 18 days away from celebrating her 100th birthday.

The Los Angeles Police Department, on Friday morning, received an emergency call to Betty White’s home as she was unresponsive.

According to the police, they arrived at her home near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Bundy Drive in Brentwood around 9:30 a.m. and pronounced her deceased.

Preliminary investigation, per the Los Angeles Police Department, reveals that Betty White died of natural death. They suspect no foul play in the death of Betty White.
