Isis Gaston was born on January 1, 2000, in The Bronx, New York, and she lived in the Fordham Road neighborhood her entire life. She is the oldest of five siblings. Her father, a former underground rapper who is African-American and of Nigerian descent, and her mother, who gave birth to Gaston when she was 17 years old, are both Dominican. When they met for the first time at a McDonald’s, Gaston was just two years old. Because her parents were always working, she spent a lot of her childhood time with her grandparents and cousins.
She was educated in the Bronx prior to her transfer to a Catholic high school in Yonkers. She started listening to rappers like Lil’ Kim when she was seven years old, and she wrote poetry and freestyle raps from elementary school through high school. She continued her volleyball career by enrolling at the State University of New York at Purchase (SUNY).
What ethnicity is Ice Spice?
Ice Spice is half Black and half Dominican. Due to the fact that her father was also an underground rapper, it would appear that music is ingrained in her family.
