Terrell Eldorado Owens, a former wide receiver for the American football team who went by the moniker “T.O.”, was born on December 7, 1973, in Alexander City, Alabama. He has three other siblings and was raised by his mother and grandma.
In the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft, Terrell Owens was selected by the San Francisco 49ers from Tennessee-Chattanooga, an unidentified school.
He caught 1,078 passes for 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns during his career, averaging 14.8 yards per catch. He loved big plays and had really good hands. At the end of his career, he had both the second-highest yardage total and the third-most touchdown catches in NFL history.
Owens spent seven seasons with the organization before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2004. He joined the Dallas Cowboys two years later and played for them for three seasons.
