Lance Armstrong has a net worth of $50 million as an American professional cyclist, author, and public speaker. Lance’s net worth was $125 million at the height of his career, and it was rapidly increasing. Lance was the processional cycling’s Michael Jordan. And, like Mike, Lance was once one of the world’s highest-paid athletes, earning up to $20 million per year from endorsements and prize money.

Lance continued to earn around $15 million per year from speaking engagements, public appearance fees, and sponsorships for several years after his retirement before his scandals really exploded.

Lance Armstrong’s name was synonymous with athletic perfection for nearly ten years. The professional cyclist and cancer survivor was held up as an example of how far you could push your body and become successful in sports. While still in high school, he established himself as an athlete to watch, winning the National Sprint-Course Triathlon in 1989 and 1990 at the age of 16.

Throughout the early 1990s, he rose through the racing ranks, becoming the first American to win a number of races. He was then diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1996.

Because cancer had spread to his lungs and brain, he had to stop cycling in order to undergo intensive treatment. He was able to return to cycling in 1998, and he seemed to be better than ever. Between 1999 and 2005, he won the Tour de France seven times.

He retired again in 2005, then returned in 2009 and raced intermittently through 2011. Then all hell broke loose. It turned out that the period from 1998 to 2005 when he appeared to be better than ever, was actually too good to be true.

While none of his rivals have won the Tour de France, Armstrong has been forced to rebuild his life outside of cycling. The Texan has several businesses, including his podcast ‘The Move,’ which he is most passionate about.
