Suzanne Marie Somers was an American actress, writer, singer, businesswoman, and health advocate who lived from October 16, 1946, to October 15, 2023. She played Carol Foster Lambert and Chrissy Snow, respectively, in the television programs Step by Step and Three’s Company.

Later, Somers started writing self-help books. One of the books that explored bioidentical hormone replacement therapy was The Naked Truth About Bioidentical Hormones, which was published in 2006. She also published four diet books, a book of poetry, and two memoirs.

Somers has occasionally come under fire for her opinions on a few medical topics and her support of the Wiley Protocol, which has been labelled “scientifically unproven and dangerous.”

In response to the dispute over water fluoridation, Somers described fluoride as a “toxic waste by-product of aluminium manufacturers.” Somers proposed in January 2013 that Adam Lanza committed the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting as a result of toxins in his diet and home cleaners he was exposed to.
