American professional baseball outfielder Lee Tinsley (March 4, 1969 – January 12, 2023) played for the Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, and Philadelphia Phillies in Major League Baseball from 1993 to 1997. (MLB). He most recently served as the Cincinnati Reds’ assistant hitting coach in Major League Baseball.
Tinsley, a student at Shelby County High School in Shelbyville, Kentucky, was selected in the first round of the 1987 MLB draft. That year, he signed a contract with the Northwest League’s Medford A’s to start his professional career. He participated in the Midwest League’s Madison Muskies in 1989 and 1990. He was promoted to the AA Huntsville Stars of the Southern League in 1991, where he played 92 games and hit.224.

As the hitting coach for the El Paso Diablos, Arizona’s AA club, Tinsley made his coaching debut in 2001. He took a year off from the organization to work as the minor league outfield coordinator for the Angels’ roving teacher program. He then joined the Diamondbacks’ organization in 2003. From 2006 to 2008, he served as the Diamondbacks’ first-base coach.
