After the Bengals’ AFC Championship Game loss on Sunday night, Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt was so overcome with disappointment that he yelled aggressively at his teammate.
A day later, Pratt apologised for his behaviour and his critical remarks towards Joseph Ossai, a fellow defence.
“I felt sensitive. I was present in the situation, Pratt said on Monday. “I think I was mistaken. You can admit that you were mistaken as a male when you look in the mirror. At that time, I wasn’t a terrific teammate.

Pratt let his anger be heard by yelling “why the f—- did you touch the quarterback?” when Bengals players entered their locker room at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Pratt was obviously disappointed with the way the game finished. When Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs faced third-and-4 on the Cincinnati Bengals’ 42-yard line with the score tied at 20, Ossai shoved him from behind, sending Mahomes flying toward the Cincinnati bench and prompting officials to call Ossai for unnecessary roughness.
Mahomes had just picked up the first down and crossed the sideline out of bounds at that point. The penalty reduced the distance needed for Mahomes’ gain by 15 yards, allowing Harrison Butker of the Kansas City Chiefs to make a 45-yard game-winning field goal with eight seconds left.
