One of America’s top comedians and actors, Bob Saget has passed away. He died on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at the age of 65.
Bob’s immediate family released a press statement following his death, saying they were devastated by the news.
“We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today,” the statement noted. “He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter.”
It added: “Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world.”

PEOPLE Magazine reports that Saget was found dead in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday afternoon following a performance in Ponte Vedra on Saturday night.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Saget’s death after deputies were called to the hotel just after 4 p.m. local time Sunday.
“Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room. The man was identified as Robert Saget and pronounced deceased on the scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case,” the Florida officials wrote on Twitter.
The police statement didn’t link his death to any foul play or drug abuse. Bob Saget was healthy and strong at the time of his death.
