Born on March 6, 1991, Tyler Gregory Okonma is an American rapper, singer, and record producer better known by his stage name Tyler, the Creator. He was one of the founding members of the band Odd Future.
Okonma has been honored with two Grammy Awards, three BET Hip Hop Awards, a BRIT Award, and an MTV Video Music Award.
The internet music press caught notice of Okonma’s self-released first mixtape Bastard in 2009 because of its horrorcore-influenced sound and violent, filthy lyrics.
His debut studio album, Goblin (2011), had a major role in his success as a household name as a result of the track “Yonkers” and its accompanying music video.
