Mark Cuban is an American billionaire entrepreneur, television personality, and media owner with a net worth of $4.8 billion, according to Forbes.

Cuban is ranked No. 177 on the Forbes 400 list for 2020. Cuban is the co-owner of 2929 Entertainment and the owner of the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association. Cuban is also one of the main “shark” investors on ABC’s reality show Shark Tank.

Cuban is Jewish and grew up in a Jewish working-class family in Mount Lebanon, a Pittsburgh suburb. Cuban’s paternal grandfather changed his surname from “Chabenisky” to “Cuban” after emigrating from Russia via Ellis Island. According to Mark’s brother Brian, Cuban’s maternal grandparents were Romanian Jewish immigrants, though Mark has claimed their maternal grandmother was Lithuanian.
